Overview
Maison Cabuy, an inspiring heritage home, changes into a great spot for creative people to come together, get inspired and grow.

Macadam Gallery presents its residency at Maison Cabuy in Mechelen.

The house carries time in its walls. It holds silence, traces of lives, shifting light. Each room has its own breath. In these spaces fifteen artists come together. Not as opposites but as voices that slowly form a shared landscape.

In collaboration with Forwart Gallery, Macadam brings a selection that places the power of materials at the center. The works speak through paper, glass, porcelain, metal, paint, texture and light. They whisper, collide, reflect, rise and fall. Some search for the fragile edge of the physical world. Others build a quiet realm where color and form approach one another with patience. Some works lean toward stillness. Others move with a restless inner energy. Together they form a living conversation in which softness and strength coexist.

The residency invites visitors to move without haste. To notice the way a shadow gently changes an artwork. To feel how silence becomes part of the experience. Maison Cabuy becomes a host that listens, allowing each piece to reveal itself at its own pace. The exhibition asks for attentive looking and offers, in return, a sense of closeness that only material and space together can create.

Inside Cabuy every artwork becomes a temporary resident. The walls listen. The rooms hold shadows for a moment and release them again.

The exhibition does not offer a single path. It unfolds like a conversation that changes as you move through it. A collection of moments where materials reveal their quiet mysteries to those who allow themselves to look slowly.
